Participants receive Basketball Australia’s Club Coach accreditation by completing this course, made up of an online education component and a six-hour practical session. The practical session covers topics including:

• How to structure a training session

• Teaching skill development (shooting, passing, dribbling, footwork, defence)

• Teaching team offence, team defence, offensive transition and defensive transition

• Zone offence and defence

• Basic ‘actions’ including cuts, hand-offs and screens

• Dos and Don’t of coaching youth basketball

• Delivering an engaging and safe training session

• Managing game day
