Written By McKinnon Basketball

McKinnon Basketball congratulates nine Cougars athletes selected for Basketball Victoria’s 2026/27 Metro Future Development Program (FDP).

The program brings together emerging players born in 2014 and 2015 from across metropolitan Victoria, providing an opportunity to develop their skills and learn alongside other talented young athletes.

Congratulations to our selected Cougars:

  • Jackson Backman

  • Oliver Backman

  • Oliver Betts

  • Leila Bikkemberg

  • Charlotte Braun

  • Stella Densley

  • Axel Lidstrom

  • Stella Maraventano

  • Maya Witschel

Running from October 2026 through August 2027, the FDP is delivered by Basketball Victoria’s Pathways High-Performance coaching team, building on the foundations athletes develop through their clubs and associations.

Selection provides a valuable opportunity for our Cougars to challenge themselves, learn from new coaches and continue growing their game.

We also acknowledge the coaches, families and teammates who support their development.

Congratulations to all nine athletes! We look forward to following their progress throughout the program.
