Vale Janet Hastings

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of much-loved McKinnon Basketball volunteer and Venue Manager, Janet Hastings.

For the past 20 years, Janet has been a familiar and treasured presence within the McKinnon Basketball community.

To many, Janet was far more than a Venue Manager. She was a friendly face at the front desk, she was kind and caring with a great sense of humour, someone who always had time for a chat, and laugh. She looked out for our referees, welcomed families through the doors and made countless Saturday and Sunday mornings at Bentleigh Secondary feel like home.

After two decades of service, Janet leaves an enormous legacy at McKinnon Basketball. Her contribution cannot simply be measured in years or weekends worked, but in the friendships she formed, the people she supported and the countless lives she touched along the way.

On behalf of everyone at McKinnon Basketball Association, we extend our deepest condolences and love to Janet’s family and friends during this incredibly sad time.

The Hastings family warmly invites members of the McKinnon Basketball community to join Janet’s family and friends as they remember and celebrate her life.
