Cougars Set for Big V 2026 as Fixtures Released

The McKinnon Cougars now know their path for the upcoming Big V 2026 season, with fixtures officially released across the Championship and Youth competitions.

The Cougar Pride will have plenty of opportunities to get behind the Cougars throughout the year, with a number of exciting matchups scheduled as the club’s senior programs prepare for another competitive campaign.

The Championship Men will also enter the season as defending Big V champions, looking to build on their successful 2025 title run.

Three key theme rounds will headline the Cougars’ home schedule in 2026.

Big Freeze Round will take place across 18–19 April, aligning with Youth Round 5 and Championship Round 3. The Big Freeze is FightMND’s major annual Australian campaign that raises vital funds and awareness for Motor Neurone Disease (MND) research.

On 16–17 May, the Cougars will host their annual Pink Out Round during Youth Round 9 and Championship Round 7. The round will help raise funds for Breast Cancer research, with McKinnon Basketball partnering with Breast Cancer Network Australia (BCNA), and Cougars teams wearing pink uniforms for the weekend.

Later in the season, the club will celebrate its history with Throwback Round on 11–12 July, during Youth Round 16 and Championship Round 14. The Cougars will return to their former home at Bentleigh Secondary College, wearing throwback uniforms with yellow as the primary colour to honour the club’s history.

All other Cougars home games in 2026 will be played at Glen Eira Sports & Aquatic Centre (GESAC).

The Youth Championship season tips off this Saturday, with the Cougars opening their campaign on the road.

  • Youth Women Saturday 14 March – 5:30pm @ Dandenong Rangers (Rowville Secondary College – Eastern Campus)

  • Youth Men Saturday 14 March – 7:00pm @ Westgate Imperials (RecWest - Braybrook)

Weekly fixtures will be shared weekly across McKinnon Basketball Associations’s social media channels throughout the season, while full fixture details for all competitions can be found via the Big V website.

Full fixtures across the Championship Men, Championship Women, Youth Championship Women and Youth League 1 Men competitions are now available, with the Cougars eager to see the stands filled with black and gold throughout the season.
