Daisy Nousis named in Australian Gems extended squad
McKinnon Basketball is proud to congratulate McKinnon Cougars junior Daisy Nousis on being named in the Australian Gems extended squad ahead of the 2026 FIBA U18 Women’s Asia Cup.
Daisy was part of the McKinnon Cougars Victorian Youth Championship Women’s team that reached the Semi Finals during the 2026 Big V season.
Daisy is one of 20 emerging athletes selected from across Australia and one of seven Victorians included in the squad.
The extended squad will attend a selection camp at the Australian Institute of Sport in Canberra from 8–11 September, where the final team of 12 will be selected to represent Australia.
Australian basketball great and four-time Olympian Kristi Harrower will lead the Gems for the upcoming tournament, which will be held in Malaysia from 4–10 October.
The Gems will begin their campaign against the Philippines on Sunday 4 October at 2.30pm AEST.
Being selected among the country’s leading young basketballers is an outstanding achievement and another exciting step in Daisy’s basketball journey.
