EDJBT 2026 Wrap-Up

Congratulations to all our McKinnon Cougars teams who competed at the 2026 Eltham Dandenong Junior Basketball Tournament.

A huge congratulations to our Tournament Champions, with outstanding performances across the weekend from U12.5 Girls, U12.5 Boys, U14.1 Girls, U14.2 Girls and U16.4 Boys who all finished their campaigns by claiming Grand Final victories. Each of these teams showed consistency throughout pool play before delivering composed and confident performances in finals to secure their championships.

Well done also to our Grand Final Runners-Up, with U12.3 Boys, U12.7 Boys and U14.2 Boys all reaching the final game of the tournament. Each of these teams produced strong performances across the weekend, progressing through finals and competing with determination and pride on the biggest stage.

  • Boys 12.1 (A Grade) completed a challenging tournament campaign, finishing with 2 wins and 3 losses and narrowly missing qualification for finals after facing strong opposition throughout pool play.

  • Boys 12.2 (B1) recorded 3 wins and 3 losses across the tournament, progressing through to the semi-finals before their run came to an end in a competitive finals matchup.

  • Boys 12.3 (B4) enjoyed a strong tournament showing, finishing with 4 wins and 2 losses and advancing all the way to the Grand Final, where they finished as runners-up after a hard-fought contest.

  • Boys 12.5 (B5 East) delivered a standout performance across the entire weekend, finishing with 6 wins and 0 losses to go undefeated and claim the tournament championship with a dominant finals series.

  • Boys 12.6 (C2) faced a tough draw throughout pool play, finishing with 1 win and 4 losses and gaining valuable experience despite narrowly missing finals qualification.

  • Boys 12.7 (C4) put together an excellent tournament run, recording 5 wins and 2 losses and advancing through to the Grand Final, where they finished runners-up after a strong finals campaign.

  • Boys 12.8 (C3 East) competed strongly across pool play, finishing with 2 wins and 3 losses and showing steady improvement throughout the tournament.

  • Girls 12.1 (A Grade) recorded 4 wins and 2 losses across the weekend, advancing through to the semi-finals after navigating a challenging pool against top-level opposition.

  • Girls 12.2 (B2) finished the tournament with 3 wins and 3 losses, qualifying for finals and reaching the semi-final stage following a balanced pool phase.

  • Boys 18.3 (C1/C2) finished pool play with 2 wins and 3 losses, with one scheduled game cancelled. Their efforts saw them advance through to the semi-finals, where their tournament run concluded after a challenging finals matchup, capping off a weekend of persistence and growth.

  • Girls 18.1 (A Grade) faced elite opposition throughout the tournament, finishing with 2 wins and 4 losses and gaining valuable experience in a high-level field.
