Emily Suckling Re-Signs with Cougars for 2026
McKinnon Basketball Association are proud to announce that Emily Suckling has re-signed with the McKinnon Cougars for the Big V 2026 State Championship Women season.
Suckling returns for her fifth season with the Cougars, after captaining the program throughout the 2025 Big V State Championship Women campaign, continuing her strong connection with the club both on and off the floor.
Across the 2025 season, Emily continued to set the standard with her consistency and efficiency, averaging 15.2 points per game while shooting over 37% from three-point range, and an outstanding 96.4% from the free-throw line. Her leadership, composure and ability to impact games at both ends of the floor were central to the Cougars’ performances throughout the year.
Suckling’s re-signing also provides important continuity for incoming Head Coach Mason Rogers, with the experienced guard set to play a key role in guiding the playing group into the new season.
“I’m excited to be returning to McKinnon for my fifth year, a club that has truly become a second home to me and a community I love being apart of.” Suckling said.
“I’m looking forward to the season ahead with an amazing group of teammates and under a new head coach.”
“I can’t wait to see everyone at our games throughout the season.”
Away from the court, Suckling continues to have an incredibly positive influence across the Cougars community, currently coaching the club’s Under 16.1 Girls and playing an active role in the development of emerging athletes.
With Suckling recommitting, the Cougars retain an experienced leader and strong presence within the program as preparations begin for the upcoming season.
The Big V State Championship Women 2026 season will tip off on Saturday 28th March, with fixtures, home game details and game-day activations to be confirmed following this weekend’s Big V Promotion–Relegation Weekend.
