McKinnon Referees recognised across BV Leagues
McKinnon Basketball is proud to recognise several referees who have earned selection and promotion across Basketball Victoria leagues ahead of the 2026 season. These selections highlight the continued progression of McKinnon officials across the Basketball Victoria pathway.
Highlighting the latest progress, Mischa Murray and Ruben Vella have both been elevated to Level 2 and selected onto the Big V referee panel for the 2026 season. Their progression marks an important step into senior competition officiating and reflects their commitment to continual improvement.
Across the Victorian Junior Basketball League (VJBL), McKinnon will again be strongly represented with 10 referees selected. Jake Lasnitzki, Julian Rees-Marom, Lucas Hornblower and Zoe Taylor have all been promoted onto the VJBL Panel for 2026, joining Aaron Rosenberger, Dominic Gehrig, Gemma Campitelli, Malachy True, Mischa Murray and Ruben Vella.
McKinnon’s contribution also extends to referee coaching, with 2 representatives appointed to the VJBL referee coach panel, as Anne-Marie Barker and Maty Morrissey step into these roles for the first time, supporting the development of the next generation of officials.
At Big V level, 5 McKinnon referees will be represented in 2026, with Dominic Gehrig, Maty Morrissey, Paul Morrissey, Mischa Murray and Ruben Vella selected, reinforcing the strength of the association’s referee pathway at senior level.
