McKinnon Walking Basketball Cougars Go Undefeated
The McKinnon Walking Basketball Team have returned UNDEFEATED from today’s tournament hosted by Basketball Victoria at the State Basketball Centre, delivering a fantastic day of teamwork, effort and community spirit.
The team recorded three strong wins:
• Game 1: McKinnon def. Waverley 22–16
• Game 2: McKinnon def. Frankston 16–11
• Game 3: McKinnon def. Melbourne 16–10
Walking Basketball is a low-impact, social and inclusive program designed for all ages and abilities, including those recovering from injury or looking to stay active. Played with modified rules and equipment, most groups use a size 5 or 6 basketball depending on participant needs.
McKinnon runs weekly Wednesday morning sessions at GESAC, featuring a 60-minute on-court program combining skill development and 5-on-5 gameplay.
To top it off, all participants are invited to enjoy a free morning tea afterwards at the Eten Café — the perfect way to wrap up a great morning on court.
