Participation Coach Course Set for April School Holidays

McKinnon Basketball will deliver a Participation Coaching Course during the upcoming April School Holidays, providing an opportunity for coaches to build their knowledge and confidence ahead of the upcoming Winter 2026 season.

The course, previously known as the Community Coach Accreditation, sits within Basketball Australia’s updated Coach Development Framework and is aimed at supporting coaches working within domestic programs and those beginning their coaching journey.

The Participation Coach Course is intended for all coaches who are in grassroots settings where the primary focus is on enjoyment and teaching the basics. Wins and losses are of no interest to you because you’re coaching U12s, and you’re simply trying to give everyone the best experience possible. We recommend it for:

  • All MBA Domestic Coaches

  • VJBL Assistant Coaches

Basketball Australia has a new Coach Development Framework: What does it mean for MBA coaches?

Combining online learning with an on-court practical session, the course covers key coaching fundamentals and provides a strong foundation for coaches to develop their skills in a supportive environment.

Course Details

Date: Monday 13th April
Time: 7:00pm – 9:00pm
Venue: Brighton Secondary College
Cost: $20 (includes online training and practical session)
