Referee Milestone: Four MBA Officials Step Up to VC Level

Over the weekend, four of our referees successfully achieved their Basketball Victoria Level 1 Accreditation, a significant milestone in their officiating journeys.

This achievement follows the successful completion of on-court assessments, theory examinations and fitness requirements.

Importantly, the accreditation of these officials also plays a vital role for the McKinnon Cougars. Without enough Level 1–accredited referees, the club would not be eligible to host home VJBL Victorian Championship games.

We are not only incredibly proud of this achievement, but genuinely grateful for the time, effort and commitment these referees continue to invest. Their work enables opportunities for our athletes, teams and broader Cougars community, and we look forward to seeing them continue to grow and represent the club at the next level.
