McKinnon Coaches Represent Victoria at National Championships

McKinnon Basketball Association congratulates Clayton Watt and Daniel Gianchino on their achievements with Victoria at last week’s Basketball Australia - National Championships.

Clayton Watt, head coach of the McKinnon Cougars’ U12.2 Girls, served as an Assistant Coach with the Victoria Ivor Burge Women’s team, helping guide the group to a Silver Medal following a narrow 53–52 Grand Final loss to New South Wales. The Ivor Burge Championships provide elite competition opportunities for athletes with an intellectual disability under VIRTUS classification requirements.

Daniel Gianchino, McKinnon Cougars’ Youth League Men Head Coach and Head Coach of the club’s VJBL Boys , was appointed Development Coach with the Victoria Under 20 Men, with the team finishing the tournament strongly by securing the Bronze Medal, defeating South Australia 97–94.

McKinnon Basketball Association is proud of both coaches for representing Victoria and the Cougars community on the national stage.
