Grading Structure
MBA’s grading process is managed by a dedicated group of experienced volunteers from across our basketball community. This grading cohort works collaboratively with the MBA competitions team to ensure divisions are as balanced and competitive as possible throughout the season.
The first four rounds of the season will operate as grading rounds.
Rounds 1 and 2 form the initial grading phase. Fixtures will be released weekly during this period, with Round 1 fixtures now live. Minor adjustments may occur between Rounds 1 and 2.
Following Round 2, results and performances will be reviewed, with more significant grading changes implemented ahead of Rounds 3 and 4.
Rounds 3 and 4 make up the secondary grading phase, with fixtures continuing to be released weekly.
Following Round 4, a final review will take place and any necessary grading changes will be applied.
Confirmation Phase
After grading is complete, the competition will enter a confirmation phase. During this period, only essential changes will be made as divisions settle. Fixtures will continue to be released weekly.
Ladders will be reset after Round 4, marking the official start of the regular season.
Uniform Policy
During Rounds 1 to 4, the MBA Uniform Policy will not be enforced with penalties, particularly to support new teams and players as they prepare their uniforms.
From Round 5 onwards, the Uniform Policy will be in full effect.
